When can you retire? Here are some things to consider.


Did you know that, according to the Employee Benefit Research Institute, 30 percent of Americans have less than $1,000 saved for retirement? Or that a 65-year-old couple retiring in 2012 will need at least $240,000 to cover medical expenses throughout retirement? Or that nearly 75% of retirees say they haven't saved enough and that they would save more if they could do it all over again?
